Seasonal Conservation Worker

The Cedar County Conservation Board is accepting applications for three temporary Conservation Workers. Seasonal employees will work 40 hours/week for 2024 camping season, performing park maintenance. There will be one three month position and two nine month positions.

Spring and Summer start dates (Flexible beginning and end dates)  The typical work week is Mon-Fri from 7:00am-3:30 pm.  The position is based in Tipton, IA.

Hourly pay is $15.00.  No other benefits are offered.  Candidates must be 18 years of age on or before the starting date.

Applicants need to be motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.   Applicants should be responsible and able to follow detailed directions from full-time staff members as well as sometimes work alone with minimal direct supervision.  

Duties to include: 

Students considering or studying in the fields of Conservation or Parks & Natural Resources are encouraged to apply. 

Prior conservation job experience is not required.  Experience with hand and power tools, power equipment, and trailer towing is helpful but not required.
